This book is for leaders looking to improve their organization and it uses the military leaders ethic as its backbone. I am an army officer and commander and have been one for over 20 years, so this is right up my alley. Most of the information is on point, but it is so obvious it reads like an army manual. The mantra of "put your organization first, serve your subordinates, be thankful and humble, and be quick to give credit where credit is due, if you don't care who gets credit for good work then everyone wins" is hard to stretch out over 200 pages, and sometimes it seems that way. However, most of the book is right on and I would recommend it.

Sinek combines interesting perspectives from anthropology, biochemistry, history and business practice to weave together his narrative in support of his premise that great leadership is predicated upon behaviors of empathy and trust. Drawing on examples from the US military, medicine, business, finance and history, Sinek keeps the book engaging with stories and examples that bring his ideas to life, although I found he got repetitive and "preachy" from time to time.A memorable segment was Sinek's discussion of our biochemistry as human beings involving endorphins, dopamine, serotonin and oxytocin. His explanation of the ways these chemicals differentiate us from all other species provided insight into our success as human beings by driving cooperation and receiving neurochemical benefits from advancing the greater social good.Much of the book is not new, and Sinek tends to make broad generalizations that could easily be challenged. But as a conversation starter, the book is a refreshing addition to leadership literature and brings some new information and perspective to a discussion of leadership, while prompting consideration of broader issues of the values modern society embraces.

There are many books on Leadership that have little to say. Sinek's book has both new insights and an inspiring vision.Sinek begins with biology and outlines the roles of chemicals - specifically Endorphins, Dopamine, Serotonin and Oxytocin - and how evolution has dictated why we generate them and how we respond to them. Endorphins mask pain and help give you a `runner's high' or the intense satisfaction after a tough work out.Dopamine leads to your `feeling good' upon accomplishing a goal whether that is bringing home dinner while evading sabre-toothed tigers or doing a bang-up job on a major presentation. Think of endorphins and Dopamine as the `individual achievement' chemicals. We need them to excel at what we do.Serotonin is what gives you a feeling of gratitude and affection for the persons who supported you in your endeavors and the good feeling as they applaud you. Oxytocin is `love' chemical. It gives you the warm fuzzies you get when you hug someone or have a deep meaningful conversation. Think of Serotonin and Oxytocin as the `social' chemicals.We, as humans, need both the individual achievement and social chemicals to progress. What has happened, unfortunately, in our society is that mores and values have changed to emphasize the former to such an extent that a deadly imbalance has been created. It is truly toxic - your job may be killing you. I used to think this was hyperbole but Sinek presents enough evidence for me to revise this opinion.Central to Sinek's arguments is the `Circle of Safety'. When a sabre-toothed tiger attacks a herd of buffalos they gather together with their tails touching and horns out. Whichever direction that tiger attacks, it is met with impenetrable defense. This is the circle of safety. We want to feel that there are persons we can trust who will look out for us. Where we can let our guard down and be ourselves.In such a trusting environment we can focus on doing the best we can and this greatly benefits both us, individually, the company. This feeling of `belonging' is what has disappeared from the corporate workplace to a large extent. It has been replaced by an ethos of `everyone for himself and the Devil take the hindmost'. And, sadly, even the `winners' in this environment are actually losers because of the personal price they pay in terms of insecurity and lack of meaningful relations, not to mention health side effects.What I found really useful in the book is the way in which Sinek takes concepts from fields such as psychology and shows how they are relevant to what we experience in the workplace. I found these to be penetrating insights and they lead to many `aha' moments as well as to a change in the way I conduct some of my own programs.For example, take the Milgram experiments. These are some of the best known - and most shocking - experiments in psychology and the implications are truly horrifying. In the early sixties, shortly after the Adolf Eichmann capture, trial and execution, there was a lively debate on whether Nazi collaborators were simply `following orders' or had a sense of responsibility and ownership for what they did.Yale professor Stanley Milgram devised a series of experiments in which a volunteer was asked to deliver electric shocks to a subject each time he made an `error' in a lesson. Unbeknownst to the volunteer the subject was actually a confederate of the professor and an actor who affected great pain and suffering as the level of electric shocks increased. In reality there were no shocks and no pain but the volunteer did not know this.When volunteers demurred from administering painful electric shocks the white gowned Milgram told them in various ways that they were required to continue even when they thought that the shocks they were administering were severely harmful to the subject.The shocking result was that huge numbers of `normal' persons - readily or with mild trepidation - continued to administer potentially lethal shocks to subjects even as they howled with pain and demanded that they be released from the experiment. And this happened simply because they were told to do so by an `authority figure' with no threats or rewards for doing so.Obviously this has great implications for why dictatorships form and survive and the debate on this continues to this day.What Sinek points out is that this same experiment is played out in our companies every day at huge human toll. I had never thought of it in these terms before but parallel is exact. Many `managers' willingly take actions that they know will bring hardship and suffering to others - mass layoffs, reductions in benefits, changes in working conditions etc. - simply because they have been directed to do so. Even worse, we have evolved a business `philosophy' where formal directions are no longer necessary - this is simply the way to do things.Sinek talks about how to bring the balance back in our workplace so both companies and individuals can thrive side by side in a symbiotic relationship. And he gives lots of examples such as the Barry Wehmiller companies where CEO Bob Chapman is dedicated to `building great people who do extraordinary things. And Charlie Kim, CEO of Next Jump who implemented a policy of lifetime employment.I particularly like his comparison of the results achieved by James Sinegal, CEO of Costco and Jack Welch the much touted former CEO of General Electric. Welch's paradigm of pitting executives against each other created a high stress environment and the gains were short-lived and unsustainable.In contrast Sinegal built a strong `circle of safety' for his people, paid wages which were nearly double those at Walmart and did many things to engender loyalty and trust. Costco employees are loyal and have built it into the second largest retailer in the country and the growth is both balanced and continuing.This book will make you think differently about the business systems that prevail in our society and also give you a way to make the workplace more humane.I hope you join the `Truly Human Leadership" bandwagon set rolling by Bob Chapman, CEO of the Barry Wehmiller companies. It is quite amazing.In Leaders Eat Last, Simon Sinek explores this unique ability to work together and how leaders make that happen. Sinek examines the chemicals that course through our veins; the ones that tell us we are happy, sad, angry or stressed. These emotions are the ones leaders must move with and against to create change.This is a great book. I assumed that the book would focus more on the concept of leaders humbling themselves and putting others first. Though that is a theme, it was not highlighted very brightly. A more accurate title would be the The Chemicals of Leadership.Sinek is a great author. He is interesting and easy to read. I would recommend this book.Here are a few great quotes:“Leadership is about taking responsibility for lives and not numbers.”“All we need are leaders to give us a good reason to commit ourselves to each other.”“Let us all be the leaders we wish we had.”

This is not your typical leadership book.. In fact, I don't think I've read a leadership book that was even remotely like it. I found it a bit odd to talk about the chemical composition of a person when it comes to leadership but I get it now. There are so many great tidbits and pearls of wisdom in the book and it's a relatively easy and quick read. One thing that was interesting was his comparisons of GE's leadership and Costco's leadership style, I'm not sure I buy into all the comparisons. All in all, it was a very good book and worth the read.

I bought this book in hopes of embarking on a mysterious recollection of a disappearing girl.However, as I plodded through the chapters, I continued finding my attention waning and my focus drifting. The writing style is bland and simple, without any interesting details. I kept waiting for the plot to gain momentum, to grab me!My hopes were futile. I finished the book feeling unsatisfied with the lousy, inconclusive ending and quite frustrated with how much time I wasted with this novel.I do not recommend buying this book.

Although she barely knows the young woman, Hawthorn, named after the tree not the writer, becomes obsessed with the disappearance of a recent graduate, Lizzie Lovett. Thinking she may be able to solve the mystery, she take a waitressing job where Lizzie worked and befriend's Lizzie's boyfriend, who some people think murdered Lizzie. Unfortunately her lack of filter was often downright mean. She was so narcissistic that she thought of Lizzie's disappearance almost as entertainment. She was constantly unkind to even her friend and family. I could easily see why she only had one friend. Hawthorn seemed to realize but not care that her mouth was the cause of much of her social awkwardness.Sedoti created unique, multi-dimensional minor characters. I was disappointed I never got a real feel for Lizzie, although that might have been part of the point.THE HUNDRED LIES OF LIZZIE LOVETT started strong but faltered once Hawthorn became convinced Lizzie had turned into a werewolf. I was surprised he parents didn't make her go to therapy, she badly needed it.I loved the premise that of the story, but the execution disappointed me. Don't read this book expecting an enthralling mystery. Hawthorn's character outshone the plot.

I can't get over how wonderful this book was. Hawthorn Creely is painfully awkward, acerbic, and lonely... and 100% relatable. I wish I had this book when I was in high school just to know I wasn't alone for wanting a bit of magic and mystery. This is a must-read for every teen. You'll love Hawthorn's wit, you'll ache over every mishap, and you'll be dying to know just what happened to Lizzie Lovett too.

Good book. Liked the characters and was slightly uncomfortable a few times. Which I like in a book. Worth the read, all though it is a very young persons read. I'm an almost 30 year old mom and sometimes like to read YA novels for fun.

I thought this book was AMAZING!! The YA market is heavily saturated, and I enjoyed reading a book exploring different themes for this age group. It also reminded me of how I was as a teenager. Definitely an awesome read, and I'm looking forward to reading the next book by Chelsea Sedoti, As You Wish/

Danish philosopher Søren Kierkegaard’s explication of the Biblical story of Abraham and Isaac is not easy reading. This short book is definitely not “philosophy light,” or “theology for the masses,” but a very serious philosophico-theological attempt to understand what it means to have the kind of faith attributed to Abraham, without dismissing him as a madman for being willing to kill his favored son when God asks him to. It is complex, detailed, imaginative, expansive, and difficult (unless you read this sort of thing all the time, which I don’t).Kierkegaard may not go down easily with anyone who prefers to think of faith as a warm feeling that gets you through the hard times. By his reading of things, neither faith nor doubt, properly understood, comes easily or cheaply, without effort and a considerable amount of time. Indeed, for a book about faith, Kierkegaard writes quite a bit about doubt, leading to the interesting question: Can faith and doubt co-exist? (Hint: The answer is yes.) In justifying or explaining Abraham’s actions, however, the primary tension at issue in Kierkegaard’s study is not between faith and doubt, with faith triumphant, but between ethics (what is publicly acceptable and, even more important, done for the good of all) and aesthetics (human sensory experience). It is not possible to find any rationale or justification for Abraham’s willingness to kill his son in the realm of ethics. It goes against every norm of human society, parental responsibility, and fatherly love. And it is not good enough to say, “Well, Abraham knew that in the end God would spare Isaac and not really require his blood at Abraham’s hand.” That kind of justification undermines the whole story. The only way to understand Abraham as a hero of faith is if he knew that God’s requirement meant that he would, in fact and in deed, kill his son., but also that God would restore Isaac (another Isaac?) to him, since it was through that genealogical line that God’s promises to Abraham had meaning. Not spare him, but restore him. It’s a paradox, and is explainable only by reference to the absurd. By “absurd,” Kierkegaard does not mean strange or weird or ridiculous. He means that which is beyond the ability of human agency and the grasp of human reason. The only way Abraham could act was by reliance on the absurd—the so-called “leap of faith” often referred to. The only way he could regain Isaac was via the absurd, but in order for his faith to have any effect, he had to believe that he was indeed going to sacrifice his son. That’s the paradox, but it is the paradox that is at the heart of any attempt to understand Abraham, in Kierkegaard’s view, because while he argues that the ethical is higher than the aesthetic, the religious stage of life is higher still. This stage puts one in a relationship with God that is personal, absolute, transcendent, and ineffable.For me, the whole thing began to become understandable (to the extent that it ever did), in the third of the three “problema” that form the core of the book, and especially the last major section. (“But now Abraham. How did he act?”) In the end Kierkegaard denies that he is actually trying to explain Abraham, since he claims that “I cannot understand Abraham, I can only admire him.” Possibly he is just being clever in saying so, though after his discussion of the absurd and of the demands of the religious life, maybe not. The story of Abraham challenges us at the heart of both our private lives (the aesthetic) and our public lives (the ethical), demanding that we at least imagine, even if we cannot live, a life beyond both (the religious).This is not easy going, certainly not a book to pick up when you’re tired or to try to rush through. In the end I’m glad I read it, though I’m not sure I’m ready just yet to rush out and read everything of Kierkegaard’s. But I did find it eye-opening, at times invigorating, at times nearly impenetrable.

I came to this from two different directions. First, many of my classmates read it in college while I was reading other things. Second, because Wittgenstein thought that Kierkegaard was the most important philosopher of the nineteenth century and I wanted a sense of why he would say that.FEAR AND TREMBLING is written, putatively, by Johannes de silentio, SK's persona. The use of that persona gives SK a certain amount of distance from the subject and provides a modulated tone. "Silent John" offers us an indication of what SK's own posture will be with regard to the subject, one that is simple on the surface but richly complex at its heart.The subject is faith, "the highest passion in a human being" (p. 145). The test subject is Abraham and Isaac and SK's extended dilation on it reveals how complex and ultimately paradoxical that subject is. Abraham's faith is, at base, unintelligible. Examined aesthetically, ethically and logically the subject eludes us. Abraham is, in one sense, a murderer or, better, one prepared to be a murderer (from one perspective). His faith is being tested. But why does Isaac have to suffer for Abraham's trial? If Abraham accepts God's will and murders his son he has demonstrated his faith (but how does that help Isaac?) If God provides another 'Isaac' in the form of a replacement son, how does that help the current Isaac? If Abraham's faith consists in his firm belief that God will save (or replace) Isaac, how powerful is that faith—very, very powerful or piece-of-cake powerful? Ultimately the Abraham/Isaac story plunges us into the world of paradox which, SK seems to suggest, is ultimately the nature of true religious faith. It is beyond man's comprehension though man is capable of exhibiting it.So why would Wittgenstein like this? First, because it shows the limits of language and hence the limits of ratiocination. Second, because it reinforces his own belief that the most important subjects in human life are beyond the reach of philosophy. The unspoken is far more important than the spoken. Finally, perhaps, because this examination of the Abraham/Isaac situation offers an extended meditation on Hume's judgment that faith is beyond reason, that it cannot, by definition, be subjected to rational debate and, in effect, constitutes a separate realm, a realm of unspeakable importance but with the stress on 'unspeakable' as well as on 'importance'. These insights anticipate Wittgenstein's and, in Kierkegaard, they are deployed with wit and skill and a profound thoughtfulness.Note on the Introduction by Alastair Hannay: AH is a distinguished student of SK, but I found the introduction to be more confusing than SK's own text. I think it should be seen as a commentary rather than an introduction and read after one completes SK's text.Highly recommended.

For the penguin edition of the bookReally interesting read, that provides an insight into Christian existentialist thought. Be aware that Kierkegaard's sentences tend to be long-winded at times. Not sure if it's his writing style or the translation.Also I enjoyed the footnotes, they provided a really good biographic view of Kierkegaard's life, and how certain events influenced his thoughts.I also found it helpful that the translator took the time to give is a rundown on Hegelian aesthetics and faith. This knowledge helps out as Kierkegaard does mention him a lot--seeing as this piece is a response to the Hegelian world view.Overall, check it out if you are a fan of faith, the absurd, Christianity, or the novel meditations of Abraham's thoughts.

Wow...very much verbal overflow. Terry Pratchett has some great books...this isn't one of them. I liked the premise (no spoilers) of good vs. evil....but evil and good minions like the status quo more than doing what the big guys want.It's just waaaaay too wordy...it's like I was reading Lord of the Rings again...good story with about 40% too many pages.

You may be a fan of Neil Gaiman's writing or maybe a TP fan. I happen to be both. Nothing pleases me more than listening to a witty, satirical and rollicking story about the end of the world, as foretold and foreseen by one Agnes Nutter, witch. I will probably listen to the story several more times and then donate the cd collection to my local library, for other people to enjoy.

I can't understand all the great reviews for this novel!? I'm a huge Neil Gaiman fan, so I was expecting a lot when he teamed up with his well reputed friend, Pratchett. Prachett is very well known for his "Discworld" series, which I was planning on getting to eventually, but I'm not so certain now.This book tries way too hard to be "wacky". There is no naturalness to the flow of the humor. Speaking of which, there is no naturalness to the pivotal character, "the anti-christ".They write "Adam" and his three friends extremely poorly. They write them as how adults, who haven't seen a kid since they were one, think a wacky pack of seven year olds might act (they are eleven, but the authors put them at the maturity level of seven year olds).I'll give the first "Discworld" novel a chance, but if starts off with the same tone as this book, I'll put it down very quickly.BTW, some people are comparing the humor in this book to Douglas Adams??? I don't see where. It doesn't even resemble poorly done Douglas Adams work.

Nature or nurture? That’s the question at the core of this funny take on the coming of the apocalypse, written by two masters of humorous speculative fiction—the late Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. The end of days is coming. What if the anti-Christ responsible for seeing it through had been switched at the hospital and was raised as a normal kid? Would he be evil enough? If not, how would the apocalypse play out? After a chapter that shows the reader the mix up at the hospital, the bulk of the book takes place over a few days that are supposed to be the last few days of humanity.There’s an extensive cast of characters including the “gang” of Adam the anti-Christ, the four horse-persons of the apocalypse, angels and demons, witches and witch-hunters, and other sundry characters. However, the characters that most carry the tone and message of the book are Crowley (a demon) and Aziraphale (an angel.) With these two, the authors inject some Taoism into an otherwise Biblical world. That is to say, pure evil and pure good are rarities; there’s always a bit of good amid the bad, and vice versa. Aziraphale can be grumpy, and Crowley’s proclivity to be mischievous has its limits. Being in similar positions, the two bond as low level managers working for Coke and Pepsi might get on because they face similar demands and have similar complaints about management.Running through the book are mentions of a book called, “The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch.” This witch’s prophecies are quite unusual in that they are invariably correct, and yet are specific. That is, the prophecies aren’t “right” in the sense that astrologers are often “right” by making vague statements that offer no disprovable propositions. This might lead one to believe that the book would be a marvelous guide for making predictions. However, there is still the issue of having been written centuries ago. Items like automobiles and cellphones, that play a major role in life today, were unfathomable. Furthermore, it’s usually not clear who, exactly, a given prophecy applies to. In short, the medieval writing style results in the fact that the prophecies usually only make sense after the fact.I’d recommend this book for readers of humorous speculative fiction.

After reading lots of post-apocalyptic stories, it's nice for me to read one about the apocalypse. Good Omens tells the story of the coming of the Anti-Christ. Everyone who is in the know assumes it will be just like the book of Revelation. In the know are two angels (one working for Heaven and the other for Hell) as well as the four horsemen of the Apocalypse (who kill time before meeting up with the Anti-Christ at Armageddon by causing trouble for people). The ineffable plan of God is about to come to fruition, time is on the verge of ending.But the plan goes awry. Crowley (Hell's angel, who used to be called Crawley because he was the snake who tempted Adam and Eve out of Paradise) is supposed to swap the infant son of Satan for the son of an American diplomat, but there's a mix-up in the nursery that goes unnoticed. Aziraphale (Heaven's angel, who gave his flaming sword to Adam and Eve when they left Paradise because it was about to rain) has an agreement with Crowley. They have both been living on the earth long enough to have an affection for humans and all the neat stuff they have invented. The predictions are hard to interpret before the fact, however, so she runs around a bit trying to put two and two together before the world comes apart.All this might sound like a serious drama, but in the hands of Pratchett and Gaiman, it's much more of a mad cap adventure. Crowley and Aziraphale are buddies trying to keep things going a little bit longer on earth. If the plan is really ineffable, who's to say the world isn't supposed to end now? The book has the dry, British sense of humor found in Douglas Adams's works or Monty Python. It is quite delightful and had me laughing out loud in several spots.Highly recommended.Also, I read this because Julie and Scott discussed it on A Good Story is Hard to Find podcast. Homeschooled for most of her life, Stargirl shows up in public high school and really shakes things up. She’s a free spirit who cares deeply about everyone else. But there is something very wrong with her according to other students. She doesn’t conform. And not conforming in public school is bad.Told from the point of view of her boyfriend, Leo, Stargirl is a quick, but emotional read. All teens should read it because pushing others to conform is common in school, but not a good idea. You never know what you might miss that would make your life better when those pushed become (or pretend to be) what you want them to be.

I enjoyed this book. I thought it was fun to read and I was interested to see what would happen to Stargirl. I was reading to my sheltered 4th and 5th graders, so some of the relationship stuff [kissing] was too much for a few of them. They were not as interested in the book, but that is my fault for trying it on a younger/immature group.

Fabulous book for girls 8-14 to read. Stargirl is very comfortable with who she is and embraces herself fully. Great role model for girls who are kind, smart, and not 'in the pack'. I give this to many young and YA girls to read and they always love it.

Read this book a long time ago. Moved and left the book in our house so I didn't got to re-read it. I chose this for a book club so I had to order it again (cheaper than flying to my house). It was a delight to read again. I picked up so much more insight the second time around. For me this is a life changing book. Bullying happens (on various scales) and it is good to be aware. I also love Stargirl's character. If I could be like her then I would be doing pretty well-we all would. Such a poignant, well-written, timely, relevant little book.

Summer reading project for my grandson. We have layered reading so I get to enjoy the books as well. Star girl is one I would recommend. Great value teaching in there. Be sure to discuss life experiences with your child while reading. We did.

If you like humor, love, and peer pressure first hand, this is the story for you. I goes through the emotions of wanting to be diffrent but not ,because of being scared of what others think.. I absolutely can't tell you how much this is true.. Every school has that one person who no one thinks much about, but you'd be surprised at what they can do. this is Stargirl.. I have been going back and forth on the raiting for this. Three might be to much but two seems a little harsh, 2.5? I had high hopes for this book. It seems like most of the recipes are just fruit, dipped or drizzled with some kind of sweetner either honey or chocolate, or Greek yogurt. If its not sugar it seems to be cream cheese. I was really hoping for more savory options. Although there is a recipe for hummus, and a few other savory options, ninja turtle nuggets made from chopped steamed broccoli with cheese, every kid friendly cook book has the mini English muffin (or bagel) pizzas. I mostly saw recipes for fruit, a couple granola bars, and cakes, one of the recipes was for watermelon wedges on a stick. Don't get me wrong everything looks delicious. (That coffee shop blueberry loaf, yes please! I also spent way to much money on this guilty pleasure.) If you have kids that don't want to see their veggies, or need a little coaching to eat something new, this book could be a slam dunk. Mine however are weird they really like veggies, so I dont have to hide them. I just wanted newer ways to serve them, so they don't get bored. ( they didn't get that from me, they got it from their dad.) fruit also is sweet enough, and shouldn't have more sugar added to it. (That's just my opinion.)it just seems like I looked at a bunch of recipes for desserts, not snacks. But then again a treat every now and then is okay. Although I am very thankful for the hummus recipe, and the fruit leathers and fruit snacks.(lets not forget the coffee shop blueberry cake, of 81) I am not sure that I would purchase this book again. If you are unsure if this is the book for you, see if you local library has a copy to borrow. If it seems like some of the recipes work for you then the money would be worth it.

I really wanted to LOVE THIS BOOK. Laura's first book has given us some fantastic meals--now staples--in our kitchen. I'm still trying to come around on this one, because she's so amazing. I was put off early on because a lot of the first chapter are recipes involving adding sugary ingredients to fruit. White chocolate chips into raspberries, drizzles, cakes, etc. I have absolutely no problem getting my kids to eat fruit and berries, and adding sugar to them, for me, defeats the purpose. I was really hoping for some healthier, wholesome, creative recipes like her first book. I did make the pizza bites today, and those turned out great. But not really any nutritional value. My 3 year old also loved the banana oat muffins. So I do hope that I'm wrong, and I hope that I am able to find some healthier options besides veggies and hummus-- but just to be honest I am a little disappointed.I also realize that this book does not claim to be a health book. And it is mostly creative twists on some of the packaged or fast food stuff you might normally buy. But these days, for my family, I am in search of anything help me nourish my kid's little bodies, and I'm just not convinced that this book will prove to be as useful as the other. But I look forward to putting more to the test, maybe using her recipes as a guide and adding my own, healthier ingredients... and I will hopefully be proven wrong.

I was looking for snack ideas for my son to take to preschool that were filling and healthy. There are way more sugary style snacks than I was expecting in this book. We consider those treats not snacks so I didn't get many ideas for preschool snacks in this book. I bought the Kindle edition for really cheap so I'm not that disappointed but now I'm off to look for something else.

There are plenty of easy-to-make snacks in this book with few ingredients that kids will love. However, it's not the cookbook for you if you're looking for exclusively healthy options. There are a LOT of dessert-type sugary junk food snacks in here. That being said, I filter out the desserts for special occasions and overall like the book very much.

This cookbook is fantastic! My 8 yr old is a picky eater and found so many recipes here that she is excited to make and eat! Great photos and instructions and more user-friendly than getting recipes from the Internet.

This has a lot of great snack ideas just wish I had the time to make them! Some snacks are quick to make while others are more involved. Not so sure they are healthy, but they are a better alternative than the processed 1000 list ingredient snacks you’d buy at the store.

We love Laura's recipes! I felt like a giddy school girl to get my copy in the mail! They are kid tested and I know from following her blog and website- momables she puts a lot into each recipe. I love that I can make more healthy versions for my boys, and also appreciate all the time and effort into each recipe. So far the handful of recipes we've done have been a hit! (I've had to double them! But then again I have three boys who could eat half a pizza lol) The chart at the back of the book rocks! :) Thanks again Laura!! :)
