Melissa G. I haven't finished reading the book, but it helped me with some aspects of my IBS-D, especially the breathing exercises. It pushed me to speak with my supervisor more about my treatment (I have a great supervisor!) so we can work through my problems at work together. I agree with Dr. Hunt that telling the people you work and socialize with is super important in this process. I appreciated learning about the cognitive model and more about IBS.However, I found out with the help of my registered dietician than a lot of my issues are food, which Dr. Hunt downplays in her treatment program. I'm lucky in that I finally found the doctors and treatment I needed and am 90% better and that my supervisor supported me 120% in the year and a half long process to this point.I give this book four stars because I don't believe it's necessarily the complete answer to your problem, and I was disappointed that Dr. Hunt downplays the food issue so much. I highly recommend reading it. I wish I'd found it earlier in my treatment, and I'll probably give it to my doctor or dietician to pass along to someone else who wouldn't otherwise read it.

This book may be for you. I spent a year going to GI doctors, getting invasive tests done and severely limiting my diet and was getting almost nowhere. After about 2 months of reading this short book and really making an effort to follow it, I can say that I am 95% better. Some of the reviews here claim that this book downplays the food issue...but that's the point! Dr. Hunt's working hypothesis is that worrying about your gut can worsen symptoms and cause flares; spending every meal wondering if you ate a hidden "trigger food" is a great way to make yourself feel worse. Try this book with an open mind and you might be amazed at how you can control your symptoms and make yourself feel better.

I didn't find this book helpful, at all. I ordered this while in the midst of a particularly bad IBS flare up, absolutely desperate for a new idea, anything new to try to make it stop. Had I not been in such a state, I might have paused to ask myself why this psychologist thinks she knows so much about this condition when even gastroenterologists will tell you that it's a bit of a mystery. All of the suggestions (deep breathing, positive imagery, and tensing and relaxing muscles) can be found online, and actually aren't very helpful with the nausea and other IBS issues to begin with. There were some parts of the book that made me feel like the author was trivializing some of the discomfort IBS can bring. She also seriously downplays the relationship between IBS and food. I've learned the hard way that food has a major effect on my symptoms, and diet mistakes cost about three days of decent living.

I have read few other books to improve my IBS symptoms. Books containing new diet plans and meditation techniques are all very useful. But the insight into the real problem I gained after reading this book is extremely helpful to me.This book clearly explains how mental condition is related to the gut problems. I was always aware of this connection but the idea was not this clear to me. Living in a professional world full of deadlines and job duties, puts lots of pressure on human body and intestinal problems such as IBS are just one way the body is alarming about the mental issues. This book focuses on this aspect and tries to provide simple but strong techniques to block the route from outside stress to the body and intestine.The book is very easy to read, no technicality,,,so my recommendation as a person with IBS symptoms is give it a read,,I am sure you will find it very useful!

good book highly recommend for someone struggling with IBS - as someone who was diagnosed with IBS, Panic disorder, agoraphobia , depression and anxiety.

This book almost exclusively treats IBS as a psychological issue that can be combated with cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). To the extent that that describes your problems, this book might be helpful. However, many people DO experience IBS (or similar symptoms that get diagnosed as IBS) as a real physical problem, and no amount of breathing exercises are going to help that. I think this book is worth trying: I'm sure everyone with IBS has some element of anxiety developed around the problem that this book could help with. But if you have a real physical problem, don't expect this method to be a cure.

As usual Lorraine Snelling has written an excellent book. I’m caught up in the culture of the time and the description of the train travel , the work load of the men and women and the family interaction. I’ve lived in Montana and experience the same type of extreme cold. They had to have so much courage. Thanks fot the great book'

I have enjoyed all four books of the Dakotah series so much and "Amethyst" wrapped the series up in a nice bundle of continued page turning reading. If you havent read the series, trust me you will treat yourself to good reading as you find yourself living with the characters and their adventures in the badlands of the Dakotah's.. I am not going to relate the story here, it is too good and I wouldnt give it justice with a few words. Thank you Ms.Snelling.

I love historical romance novel, The two books have it all, romance, excitement, honor, and love of each other. The women stand up for what they believe and don't let men get in the way of what they want to do. Even in the harsh and dangerous place as the Dakotahs, starting a new life with nothing but just a few pennies in order to fulfill a promise to themselves, to find a new life worth living. I give Amazion a thumbs up for having the most well written books whether on Kindle or paper backs. I may be up in years but still love to read about what use to be. I still remember the hard times in the 30's and survived. I can relate to their struggle to build a home out of nothing.

These books build on each other,yet keep the momentum going. I’ve read each book in the series about once a year & don’t tire of this extended family, which grows in diversity, experience & faith.

The only problem I have with this book , is that it is the last in the series. I have cone to love the "treasures" as their lives and loves unfolded. My heart feels the story could possibly continue with Joel and possibly Ada Mae in the next generation. 'Ms Snelling writes a compelling story. Certainly will become a favorite author.

I ordered this book because It was the last one of a series of four.The other three I ordered on my kindle,but this one was unavilable on the kindle. This book along with the other three were great its the kind you have to keep reading you dont want to sit down. I do recommend having the whole series before you start reading, for it is fast pace as soon as you finish one you want the next one to start. Not stop and wait to order the next one.I really enjoyed this set by Lauraine Snelling and others.

I'm not the biggest fan of Christian literature but these were a good read. Some interesting insights into early American prairie settling and history. It's good to be reminded of what earlier generations built for us, and to be reminded that the women were strong and resourceful as well.

The book was a great western, it was a page turner !

In my opinion, the biggest constraint to what the authors define as three imperatives to a winning talent playbook, will be the lack of HR strategic capabilities. I appreciate all the letters showcased behind many HR professional's names these days (e.g., PHR, SPHR, etc.) however, these credentials are essentially impractIcal and obsolete when it comes to driving early stage, emerging mid-market or Fortune business financial success. For the proven business partner and vetted HR executive contributor (as measured by EBITDA), congratulations on an abundance of career opportunities as you share the reins with the CEO, CFO - as CHRO - in making a significant impact.

Ram Charan is most important management writer since Peter F. Drucker. In this work he teams with two world-class business leaders, Dominic Barton and Dennis Carey to provide CEOs, CFO and CHROs a clear road map to optimizing individual and organizational performance by creating a new leadership team the call the G-3, composed of the above individuals integrate the quantitative and qualitative components to identify the "Top 2%" performers throughout the organization and how to recruit more top 2%ers from external resources. What a great book ! I've been thinking about how HR is never put into it's proper perspective in many facets of a business and this book tells it like it is. It's a world that rewards the best companies that have the best employees. I've been a consistent reader of all of Jonathan Little's books. What separates him from most other authors is that he teaches readers the "why", not just the "how", in very clear and humble language. His earlier works have focused on general principles-raising ranges, player profiles, post-flop strategy, etc. In all of those and in this work, he excels at encouraging the reader to think through why a certain line might be better than another, and not to take the same lines against every opponent.This book adds to that with some of the best range analysis discussions I've come across in a long time. It takes from game theory and distills it to a level that an advanced beginner or intermediate player would understand, and then recommends adjustments for different player profiles and stack sizes. I would not recommend it for a completely new player, but for someone who's played a few months online or live and can understand what range analysis is actually describing, this book is indispensable. I've found it greatly improving my play, adjusting my value and bluffing frequencies and ranges and thereby increasing my overall profitability. For those poker players who become fixated on perfect pre-flop play, this and previous works by Little force them to connect pre-flop play to post-flop (it certainly has me) and understand why adjustments pre-flop against raising ranges and player profiles allow flexibility in one's ability to play post-flop, which is where many beginners and general amateurs struggle.I recommend taking this book a couple chapters at a time, applying lessons at the table and then re-reading the chapter until the principles are understood.

Fantastic poker book. Jonathan's writing and examples make complex situations easy to understand. He shows how to get the most equity from almost any situation. He discusses the mistakes that most amateurs make in their games, how to take advantage of them, and how to eliminate those mistakes from your game. It is an absolute must read for anyone that plays in small stakes games and wishes to maximize their winnings and/or move up to the middle stakes.

Jonathan, like the book but there are quite a few typos in the tables. For example diagrams 7 and 8 are the exact same chart. Diagram 7 is for >40 bb and table 7 is supposed to be for 12-40 BB. This happens a few more times at least throughout the first 100 pages of the book ie with charts dealing w playing w and w/o antes. Inwould suggest posting the correct tables onnyour website. Otherwise really nice book for beginner/intermediates. Thanks!

As 20+ year accomplished poker player myself, I chose to read this book out of curiosity. The author is definitely a superb player, but there is a limit to math in poker and this book is mostly all about the math and difficult percentages. Pot odds are very important, but so is manipulation and just having an ability to sense and "know." Way too many charts on the wrong pages, that reference other pages. Mostly, the feeling I got from this book is that the author wants to lead you to his website. There is certainly some good advice in this book that I agree with and I cannot say I disagree with much in this book as it is very accurate, but it is very, very boring. Its like a boring textbook that needs to be edited a few more times in my opinion.

This is a great book for learning to think about ranges and applying that to your betting actions. Jonathan has done a good job presenting all the common betting scenarios and how to take advantage of mistakes small stakes players make. He covers deep stack, medium stack and short stack play in each scenario. This is more a text book on poker play, the type of book you come back to over and over until you master the material. Having now read through the book, now I need to go back and thoroughly study it.

This is a great book. I have read the "Secrets of no limit holdem" books and been waiting for a rewrite (because poker keeps changing), or a book like like this - as a poker review for me - but as a great book for people who haven't read many other books yet.One thing I liked is that Jonathan took time in several places to discuss how to play against the "maniacs". We do run into people like this, and the general advice in the past has been to wait until you have the nuts and then take them down. In this book Jonathan explains for many, many different situations how to play against both tight and loose opponents and also often includes how to play against the maniacs.This book shows lots of ranges for your own play, and lots of ranges for what to expect your opponents to have. Everyone advises that thinking about ranges of hands, rather than just specific hands, is very important, but few books take the time to actually explain and visualize these ranges. By the use of charts for ranges we are better able to visualize them.This book covers many, many situations and I find the repetition of the same good advice for various situations to be helpful.The book is long, and you probably won't read it at one sitting, but it is worth the effort. And the organization makes it easy to return to sections you want to review.

Remember when c-betting was a revelation and everyone was doing it? Well this book takes your poker learning to the next level with range analysis - ranges are the rage right now and Mr. Little does not hold back when it comes to deciphering the correct play pre and post flop. Takes a little bit to get in to and you'll need to memorize range charts to implement but overall a good "next level" text.

I just started reading this book, it's generally fine but I found one thing super annoying: errors in range diagram!! When the book is talking about two different ranges when at different positions, it put the same figure there!! This is super confusing since the text doesn't tell you much more about actual range, you have to solely rely on diagram, but they are wrong...

This book is filled with many historical facts, but is not a history book. As you can read in the back of the book it is a selection of "essays, speeches, journalism, songs, poems, legal documents, testimonials and short stories"; yes, they are important and valuable to anyone interested in the country and it's people but if this is all you read about the country you will miss very important details about Dominican History.If you already know about Dominican History because you have studied, then by all means you should have this book in your collection. It is an interesting read and I recommend it. But if you don't know anything about the country history and want a good source, then this is not it.

I am a coach in South America. After years of helping and coaching leaders, I have discovered that every person has an unbelievable amount of unleveraged potential. The Colans deliver again in this easy to read book about positive coaching. It is really easy to fall into negative thoughts about your employees and their work product. This book explains the consequences of these negative thoughts and “coaches” the reader on how to develop positive thoughts. While the boss will learn how to coach in a positive way, the book encourages having realistic conversations with employees dealing with tough issues. I cannot wait to apply these principles.

This book is not only relevant but easy to apply. It's a book that companies should use to help leaders better communicate with a coaching mentality rather than authoritative telling what to do mentality. Great communication tips galore. Great job!

A well-written and no-nonsense guide to negotiating outsourcing services agreements

1. Very difficult language.2. There is nothing specific that would help to improve your business.3. I felt that author just share his thought about it but I really would not believe this book were written by a specialist in this field.4. Just expatiation how important are relationships between client (I haven't seen the word customer here) and service provider.

Most customers of outsourcing services adopt a confrontational approach. My perspective is that every customer of these services should read this book and reflect on how their approach may be hindering accomplishing their goals. Adopting the author's recommendations to prepare for success and negotiate contracts based on market-relevant standards will measurably improve the success of your outsourcing agreements.Many providers of outsourcing services contribute to the problem by taking extreme negotiating positions protecting their interests. They explain this position be pointing to the buyers extreme positions and the need to have something to give. The result of this is an ugly negotiating dynamic that destroys value and damages the relationship. If outsourcing providers would also adopt the author's recommendations negotiating would expedited and not only would the benefits of the relationship begin sooner, but the relationship would generate greater value.

This book is extremely well written. I liked the way Mr. Lange has organized the expansive content although it is far more than just ‘selling’ outsourcing services as its title states. It really defines the basis for a strong foundation for all parties whether you are a buyer, seller or third party adviser. This book is a must read for all factions engaged in or about to engage in outsourcing services. Whether experienced or not, salespeople, negotiators, delivery professionals all the way down to the various organizations buying outsourcing services will greatly benefit from Mr. Lange’s in-depth experience.
