This is an "Adventure" map not a "Road" map. That said, Belize has four main highways, the Northern Highway, the Southern Highway, the Western Highway and the Hummingbird Highway. These best roads in Belize are roughly the equivalent of 2-lane state highways in rural Ohio. They are marked on the map in red. There are no Interstate Highways. Everything else is iffy, particularly the Coastal or "Manatee" Highway between La Democracia and a point just west of Dangriga (name of highway not shown on National Geographic map). Though printed in gold and captioned by National Geographic as a "Select paved or gravel road" this is a gravel road with rutting and a temporary bridge mid-way through. (In addition there is a second single-lane wooden planked bridge that is intended to be permanent.) There are no services, i.e. no gas, no food, no repair shops on the 40-50 mile length of this road. There is a second gold-colored, select highway known as the "Old" Northern Highway. We did not travel north of the Western Highway during our visit to Belize in early 2014 so I cannot comment on that stretch of road.For tourist areas, the single 2-lane paved street through Placencia (like a paved suburban neighborhood street but with sand blown across it) which runs from Riversdale through Placencia is shown (with the access to the Southern Highway running west out of Riversdale), however, the lane-and-a-half gravel and dirt road running much of the length of Ambergris Caye (outside San Pedro) is not shown. (Most transportation on Ambergris Caye is by golf cart.)The myriad cayes along the Barrier Reef are shown with captions for diving areas and other activities (fishing, wind surfing, sailing, etc.). While the snorkeling areas we visited are marked, I cannot vouch for the precise accuracy of the placement of the little caption markings.Inland, there are markings for Mayan ruins. We visited Xunantunich in the extreme west near San Ignacio which is properly marked on the map. Unfortunately, the map does not show the location of the small ferry needed to cross the river to access the ruins. (Hint, the best souvenir prices found on the trip were found in the line of little shops beside the ferry landing which is down a short, sharp driveway off the Western Highway.)There are numerous anonymous (no name) local gravel roads shown on the map. If you are bushwhacking, take a compass.On the reverse of the map there are limited detail maps of Belize City and (central) San Pedro. The Belize City map does not extend to the west to the international airport. The airport shown at the top of the map is the local city airport. (Hint: You could get a cheaper air fare to San Pedro at the city airport than at the International airport.) The reverse of the map also includes a detail of the ruins at Tik'al. These ruins are in Guatemala. Due to travel warnings we did not cross the border into Guatemala, even to travel main highways. National Geographic does not list a travel warning.The reverse of the National Geographic map is not all it could be. Most of the page is mostly covered with travel pictures, some but not all are captioned. The town maps shown need to be expanded and detail maps for additional towns and tourist areas need to be included. The pretty pictures need to be smaller and they need captions. ...and what's this Guatemala business?As another reviewer noted. For speed control, there are numerous 6" high speed bumps throughout Belize. You cannot appreciate how vicious they are until you drive over exactly "one" at speed.Points made by other reviewers are well taken. While a fairly good "adventure" map, this map is deficient as a highway map. The bottom line: The people of Belize are friendly and they speak English. Use the map as a guide, then stop and ask for directions. Jim D

This is more than a map. In addition to good detail of roads there is a lot of information on many archaeology sites and and towns. The reason for only 3 stars is the very flimsy paper it is printed on makes it easy to tear and crinkle up. If the map is going to be spread out on a table or tacked on a wall it large and easily readable.

I purchased this map solely for the tourist information, but this map is so complete I do not need another map of Belize. I'm traveling the Peten and Belize now.

National Geographic rarely missed the ball on their adventure maps. I purchased a Grand Canyon adventure map while hiking in the national park and that thing withstood some real beatings. This map is no different - it has a great waterproof outer layer and the paper used feels strong and thick (for a map). As for mapping, the details are great and locations are spot on!

Great map made of durable, lightweight plastic. Landmarks are clearly indicated, making for wonderful impromptu adventuring in Belize.

Good map but covers mostly national parks whereas I am interested in traveling to communities, cities and seeing local sights. Really not what I was looking for.

There is nothing better than this book. I am using it with teens, who are not big readers and they like all the photos and examples. There are great starting instructions. The book covers many styles of makeup.

So much fun, very educational. Lots of step-by-step tutorials. Good quality, and begins with less skill needed and gets more advanced as you go.

Bought this book for my daughter. She loves it. It has inspired her to get her cosmetology license and take theatre classes. She wants to teach! How about that. Thank you for your inspiration.The book has very clear and concise instructions and easy to read/see pictures/text. It is a great addition to your library.

Great beginner book for stage make-up. It has lots of good tips for those getting started with lots of different color pictures to help you understand where to put the shadows, highlights, etc.

This book is seriously outdated. I was required to purchase this textbook when attending a community college for my preliminary classes. Since graduating, I have become a full time professional in the beauty industry and there's a lot of other great materials out there that will truly benefit you as an artist and should be looked at as an alternative prior to purchasing this book.

TED Talks reminds me a little of a book I read decades ago… Bobby Fischer Teaches Chess. As I read that book I kept thinking, yes, interesting idea – and another. When I finished, I thought ok good pointers but will it make any difference? Then I played someone who I had never won against in dozens of opportunities and I beat them.Bobby Fischer’s book was one of the first popular books I read that used programmed learning… stepping the reader through a series of painless exercises. I’ve also seen that technique also used in a book that teaches math by setting up the problems faced by Euclid, etc. and giving readers enough clues so they too can reach their own aha moments.While TED Talks doesn’t use programmed learning, it is very painless reading, packed with lots of good ideas. You may not come away and be able to deliver a TED Talk right away but you will come away with at least several new ideas on how to improve your ability to get your message across in group settings.Anyone who has seen several TED Talks knows there is no one way to deliver the talks but the book has plenty to say about what generally doesn’t work and what does. I’ll just hit on a few that struck me as helpful:• Don’t give a sales pitch. The speaker’s job is to give to the audience, not to take.• Sometimes it takes a little demolition before changing minds. Example: In ancient societies, a third of men died violent deaths. Modern media plays up violence because that’s what sells.We've changed. After crushing their stereotypes, now you can go onto your points.• Take your audience down your own path of discovery. By asking them to join the process, they get more involved.• Make sure your words and images work together.• Don’t leave a slide up once you are finished with it. Better to put up a blank screen to avoid distraction.• Transitions in Keynote should be kept simple. Cut when shifting to a new idea. Dissolve when slides are related. Dazzle distracts.• Most TED speakers memorize and then practice so much it sounds spontaneous.• Wrinkled clothes telegraph you don’t try. If you don't care, why should they?• Breathe deeply, take your power pose. Be sure to hydrate.• Keep your notes by your water. When you grab a drink, you can quickly glance at where you are. Notes can be there if you need them. Hopefully, you won't.I’m sure you’ll come up with your own list of tips from this very helpful book.

A friend told me about this book as I was in the midst of preparing for a TEDx talk. I picked it up with the same enthusiasm a 5th grader has for homework: "Guess we have to do this now, siiiigh." It turned out to be a compelling enough read to have me blaze through it in one sitting, way past my bedtime.As head of TED, not only has Chris Anderson seen a lot of extraordinary speakers, but also a lot of terrible ones. So he knows the ingredients of both great and mediocre speaking, and how to transform the latter into the former. He presents a highly structured framework useful for beginners all the way to seasoned professionals:• Foundation: presentation literacy; idea building; common traps to avoid; and the all-important throughline• Talk Tools: connection; narration; explanation; persuasion; revelation• Preparation: visuals; scripting; run-throughs; the open and the close• On Stage: wardrobe; mental prep; setup; voice and presence.Anderson does a particularly deft job of explaining the throughline concept and emphasizing its importance. So many talks and pitches miss this point, consequently making only a fraction of their potential impact. What holds together the disparate elements of the talk? Without a clear throughline, listeners may never take any of your lovely ideas home with them.The advice in this book ranges from the lofty and overarching -- e.g. a show of vulnerability brings the audience to your side -- to the technical and specific -- e.g. busy patterns on shirts come out looking funny on video. You may want to speak your talk and transcribe *that* instead of writing it out first. As a professional speaker and speaking coach, I really appreciate how Anderson has compiled many trade secrets that are understood unconsciously but haven't necessarily been articulated all in one spot. And the illustrative examples drawn from all-time greatest TED talks -- Sir Ken Robinson, Elizabeth Gilbert, Jill Bolte-Taylor -- are alone worth the price of admission.If you are a professional speaker or an aspiring one, this is a supremely useful reference. I applaud that one of the main themes of the book is to *serve your audience*. If you only do that, all your talks can only improve. I found most of the advice good but it is totally geared toward motor homes, not travel trailers at all.I would like to correct something the author stated. She said ALL state parks require advanced reservations. We've camped at state parks many times and I've never heard of this. Is it practical during busy times? Yes, just like any other kind of campground. Is it required--absolutely not.I would like to add to something else she stated. She said you could be a campground host at Bureau of Land Management campgrounds and get free hooks ups. Yes that is true. AND at national parks and state parks and national forest service campgrounds and Corp of Engineer campgrounds and city and county campgrounds. About any campground that is publicly owned.I get the feeling she has only stayed at the private RV resort type places. There is a whole other world of campgrounds and lifestyles in fabulous locations that does not include RV resorts.

I have to say I was disappointed in the content of this book. It has a good deal of information about living in a Class A motorhome in general (though the advice is often "take it to an expert"). But there is very limited information or advice that is truly for women who are RVing alone. I felt this could have been any of the authors other titles on living the RV lifestyle.

This short little book contained an amazing amount of useful information. I'm in the beginning phase of learning about solo RV travel (I'm planning to hit the road in about three years), and I'm sure I'll be referring back to this book regularly. I feel much more confident about being able to handle the lifestyle on my own, and am so glad I ran across this great book.

I really enjoyed reading this eBook. It is geared to the woman's experience and some of the issues that a woman alone might need to address before going on the road. It has good reference points and how to approach getting ready for travel. As in any situation a woman alone must stay alert to her situation and take steps to insure her safety. But I think this book lays out many great tips for having a fantastic adventure on the road. I recommend it to any one looking to get out there and go traveling.

I liked this book. It is pretty basic, but still communicates what it would be like to take to the road alone. I have to admit to a certain fascination to just "taking off", but then I realize how truly comfortable I am in this "old pile". This book helped me to realize the reality of being a vagabond, and I guess it really wouldn't be my cup of tea. But I will enjoy the fantasy.

The author should have been upfront that her book only deals with Class A and Class C motorhomes. Why no mention of Class B, which is what I'm buying, was not mentioned is beyond me. So this book and the other one on motorhome care & maintenance was a waste of money for me.

I liked how practical and well written it was. Good information and where to get further information on subjects. Details were given but didn't get bogged down technically. Some things are going to need to be taken care of professionally but had very good tips for dealing with that as well. It felt like a conversation between us. I like that in writing so that the information is more easily comprehended.

She has some very good links to other sites for further research on a variety of topics. She is very clear that she doesn't like 5th wheels (which is my mode of RV travel) nor does she like boondocking for women, which is what I prefer doing. Other than that, it is very informative.

I couldn't even make it through the first book. The lead female character was such a jealous, whiny little bitch I honestly didn't understand why one) the hero was interested and two) how she still had any friends. We all get hurt, but she's over thirty and still acts like a high school girl with her first boyfriend. One of her buddies even says "You're growing up now, Emma. Good job!" She sees her hero with his cousin and flips out because she doesn't know who the other woman is, so what does she do? She flirts and leads on another man. Hello pot, this is the kettle calling.... I didn't even bother with the other two books, because why? If I hate this heroine, how could I enjoy a series that follows her and her friends?

The first story was all about Emmas insecurities. Almost to the point of crazy. After a while, she frankly just gave me a headache. 40 some odd chapters later, we came to the HEA. But, lordy, what a toll it, and Emma took on my nerves. Not to mention all the bro-ing going on with the men.The next story, of Pete and Holly, i enjoyed very much. When Pete and Jack were not bro-ing it to death. Bro this, bro that, every other sentence was bro something or other. It felt very contrived, and more than a little annoying. Bro aside, i enjoyed this one much more than the first story w crazy Emma. Tho Pete was the source of crazy to the point of ridiculous here, eventually, we got there. Great HEA, bro!The 3rd story, we are still bro-ing big time. Waaaay too much bro here bro there, bro, bro everywhere. It feels if the author once heard two guys speak, and assumed thats the way they all speak all the time. In every sentence that comes out of their mouths. By this point, its on my last nerve and Im trying to decide if its worth one more bro, just to finish the story.I did stick to it and finish, tho. The bro's finally tapered off after a while, no craziness in this one. For my money, the last story was by far the best. All would have been so much better without all the forced bro, bro, bro nonsense, and without so much craziness.

3 books, 3 graphically sex filled romance stories, all very similar. Language used to describe sexual encounters was virtually the same in all 3 books. Each female was flawed by insecurities that made fora difficult romance. All of the men were strong and successful.The author has the maddening practice of giving their male characters nick names for the females to call their men. It was so repetitive as to drive me crazy and spoil the story. The author could also have used a better proof reader as there were many grammatical errors.This was mindless reading. Only read these books if you have nothing better to do.

I reviewed the first and second books on their individual sites. I should have deleted this set before wasting my time reading the other two, but I hate leaving anything unfinished.All three have good story premises, but very poor execution in the writing.The third book is slightly better than the first two, but it is still full of the repetitions of the characters' percieved problems. The third book has more problems, but mentioned fewer times each.There are the same kinds of mistakes that an editor not afraid to use the red pencil would have, should have caught. (Punctuation errors, missing words, and the repetition which seemed to be just to lengthen the books.)

Language and sexual acts were uncalled for. Why can't the writer tone down the bad language - the f and c words, etc. and why does the writer go on about the sex. I will not be getting any more of this writer's books. Too racy. Too naughty. Keep it clean.

I have already ordered and received the the EBook for Smoky & Laura there is a connection to Summer Lake for both however both have never lived there. SJ McCoy after only three books of yours I have now got you at #4 in list of authors. I am also going to order book 1 of the Remington Ranch series. Also I like the semi-colon reference I have suffered from depression around the holiday season since returning from Vietnam. On a happier note I encourage everyone you will not be disappointed if you read one of these 3 Books I am glad I did

I really enjoyed the first three books in this series. There were a few things that bothered me, but not enough to stop reading. In the first book, Scot is supposed to be 15, by the third book he's 14. In all books, the personality Scot was given was more of a 7/9 year old instead of a 14/15 year old.The first book was really good and I enjoyed hearing about" Mouse" and Jack. They had a very cute relationship and it was a good book for getting to know everyone. They did have a misunderstanding that was more of Emma not being confident in herself and their relationship.The second book was a good follow up from the first book with Pete and Holly. Holly is caught up in a bad deal left over from her Grandma and Pete wants to help. Holly doesn't want to get close to Pete since he can't commit. Pete can't commit since he's a planner and Holly was never part of the plan. He'll need to learn to re-evaluate his plan.The third book with Missy and Dan was cute. Missy had done everything on her own since having Scot. She does everything she can to make sure Scot has a good life. Dan originally came down to help break Scot out of his shell. Over a period of time he falls in love with Missy. Can Dan get Missy to love him back and let him help her?

Ok well maybe he doesn't have a full ride at the college of his choice, yet. I mean the kid is only 1. I guess they taste really good too, but I wouldn't know myself.Ok in all seriousness these are just cute, they are read to him and I think mommy is enjoying them a bit more at this point but that will change in time. They were a great gift and will get them for another expecting friend soon.

My one year old loves looking at this book and as an astrophysicist I'm beyond tickled that she enjoys it.

Buying these series of books for our 5 yr old grandson. He loves them. Parents read to him every night. These are some of his favorites.

I love these books. They break down complex subjects so that a toddler can understand them.

I regret purchasing this book. Definitely not worth the money and it's something I won't say about a book unless it has little to no information worth the price. My kids (kindergarten and 2nd grade) both said the book is stupid because you can read it in like 1 min!
