Ms. Reisz threw caution to the wind and wrote from her heart - marketing be damned.This story is the ultimate fantasy because it defies description. It has a spooky supernatural vibe, without being anything close to "paranormal romance". When you add in Mona's internal monologue, it becomes a beautiful psychological journey of a woman finding her true self - emotionally and sexually.Ms. Reisz' turn of a phrase is so artful, I couldn't be sure whether Malcolm was a kinky stranger, a hallucination, fever dream or the devil himself. I greatly enjoyed The Red. It reminded me of the Sleeping Beauty trilogy by Ann Rice. It is a fairy tale style telling of a Mona, who made a deathbed promise to her mother and had no way to keep it until Malcolm made her an intriguing offer. If she submitted to him for a year, he would save her mother's gallery.Mona accepted, flattered and intrigued that someone would pay her a million dollars to have sex with her for a year. Her sexual appetite along with an increased kink factor grew rapacious under Malcolm's tutelage. His unique demands that they re-enact the erotic scenes in famous paintings was a great idea to tell the story. I had a hard time putting the book down only to return later. Forget about it.

Unfortunately, that may be awfully confusing to those who don’t know her work, so here comes a full-blown review.When Mona’s mother was dying, Mona promised her she would do anything within her power to keep their art gallery, The Red open and operating. When the promise was made, Mona couldn’t imagine the crippling debt she would be in following her mother’s lengthy and expensive illness. With little to no revenue coming in and the bills relentlessly showing up, Mona lives in fear of disappointing her mother. It is at her weakest moment that Malcolm comes into her life with a proposal Mona’s still young and reckless enough to accept. For the period of one year, Malcolm will have access to her body for whatever purpose and position he so desires. In return, Malcolm will provide Mona with enough priceless art to keep her gallery not just open, but flourishing. Desperate and more than a little intrigued, Mona accepts.The first few encounters with Malcolm are beyond anything Mona could have ever imagined. Each encounter is based on a famous painting and each sexual encounter is more inventive and satisfying than the last. In fact, there is more than one time when Mona assumes she dreamt or even hallucinated the events of her night with Malcolm and to an extent, that scares her. Worries aside, Mona wakes the morning after each encounter completely sated and with a new (at least to her!) work of art that is worth, at the very least, hundreds of thousands of dollars. To be sure, at the end of the year, The Red will not only be financially solvent, but so far in the black as to be secure for years to come. As the month’s pass, Mona’s financial security becomes less important to her than the eventual and certain loss of Malcolm. Though some of his scenarios scare and even anger her, there is no denying the hold Malcolm has over Mona and the fact he’s ruined her for all other men. More than anything else, it is this inevitable ending that scares and saddens Mona.The Bottom Line: Holy sh*t!! Tiffany Reisz just wrote the book version of a mic drop and then sashayed out of the room leaving the rest of lying on the ground twitching!! As I said in the beginning, F*^$ you, Tiffany Reisz. Just, F*^$ you. Between the intensity of the read, the desire to know precisely who Malcolm is, and total lack of respect for my next day’s responsibilities, this book got finished in one shot at 5 a.m. I regret nothing! At its core, The Red is all about the art and the sex and I loved every single minute of this read. Only Tiffany Reisz can write a book that is roughly 85% sex and keep it fresh, exciting, dirty, and oh, so good! As always, the writing (even in ARC form!) is flawless and elegant and the ending is spot on awesome!!P.S. *^$ you, Tiffany Reisz. Just, F*^$ you. 😊P.P.S. Yeah, I ordered a signed copy of this one. Spoiler alertGrammar and spelling errors distract the flow of this read; but, with all the characters and drama, this will be a worthy read for many who enjoy tales of drug dealers and the females who desire them, hood drama. There are various relationships that are tested. I do wish more characters had to pay for their deceits. It would have been a better ending if two guns fired between the eyes rather than one gun. There are twists; but, they are smoothly written. Kudos to the author for not having twists just for sake of having them. I wish the characters were four years older. Too often it felt like teenagers playing grown up games. Lack of maturity was definitely a component driving the behaviors of many of the characters. It would have been nice for Sasha to have gotten caught up with Face after Jessica so she could have been dealt with by Face or Jessica. The crooked cops should have been dealt with as well. They could have gotten into a car chase with the kidnappers in the van ending with a paralyzing car crash or fatal / near fatal shoot out. Bernard was disappointing, knowing better and not doing better. Would have liked for Bandz to be handing out ganja cigars to celebrate the arrival of his fraternal twins as he plots his marriage proposal. Definitely recommendation for those who enjoy urban fiction.

Fast money in a fast life. Melonia, Tommy, Tookie,Face, Yancy, Perry, Bandz and Porsha all find themselves in some form of the fast and the furious. From hustling drugs, boxing, scheming and a lick or two, there is nothing keeping them from the bag. As life takes it's swings, they swing back. Friendships, parenthood and even personal freedom is on the line. Love might cover a multitude of sins but it doesn't pay the bills.

Ok, so I gotta jump right in and talk about Yancy. No one ever figured out everything she did. She did SO much dirt. I'm glad Face got what he deserved in the end though. Now, I really don't like these stories about young people playing grown folks roles, but the story was good.

This was a very good read. Enjoyable. I had a feeling about Tommy and Melonia from the beginning. Face was... TERRIBLE. Glad everyone got a (somewhat) happy ending.

Loved the stories with in the characters. I think the ending deserved better after everything each character went through. All in all a fun read

First book I read by Keys and I most say it was a good read. It was HEA . I love the family n love they shared for each other. Some I oh wow moment n lots of laugh

Unfortunately things like this really happen girls sleeping with family members of their boyfriend's, jealousy over money ,but for that payback it happens i love multiple book's in one.

This scholarly treatment of the life and work of the apostles leaves me with an enduring sense of awe for the way God entrusted the message of the gospel to them. Shelton's in depth portrayal of their legacy is truly inspirational. This book gives me a new appreciation of the legitimacy of the apostolic authority of the New Testament as Scripture.

Really enjoyed reading about each apostles supposed journeys and how each was marked by a faith to purse and to spread the message and gospel of Jesus Christ to the world.

I absolutely loved this book! So much of what happened to the Apostles after the ascension of Christ is speculation, and has driven this Bible Nerd absolutely nuts. "The Quest for the Historical Apostles" was such a treasure. The author's drive to find the factual truth behind the Apostles was refreshing and mirrored my own heartfelt quest to learn more about these astounding men. But the author's drive and determination to stay true to authenticity is what drove me to the end of the book. It was a brilliant journey, one that I will happily reread again in the near future.

I quite enjoyed the journey the Author took me on, as we waded through History, Legend and Myth in a search for the fate of Jesus' disciples. From my youth, I have always "wished" that Luke had given us more info about what happened to them - even with Paul at the end of Acts, we have him under house arrest and still carrying on his ministry.I also enjoyed how the Author frequently relates some of the more colourful "acts" that are written in various Apocryphal and Pseudepigraphical works - and I also appreciated the fairness with which he treated many of these works.It would've be nice to have a few more chapters (or a followup book) that covered people such as James (the brother of Christ), Mary (the mother of Christ), Barnabas, Luke, John Mark, Apollos, etc...This book is well referenced and indexed - which I always like :)

As a Bishop whose specialty is ecclesiology, I've read several books about the historical Apostles.Out of all I've read and referenced, this text is one of the best.The format and structure of the material is presented in a manner which balances narrative and reference. It's both a handbook and a story.The scholarship is wonderful with an abundance of citations.

Liked everything about it

I am a huge Stephen King fan and was excited about reading this book. However this book reads more like a wikipedia page than a biography. It is poorly written and didn't shed any new light on Stephen's life at all.Do not waste your money!

This is a great book for "just the facts, ma'am" reading.If I had to do a report on Mr. King (my favorite author,)for school, this book would come in handy! Has the obligatory, though interesting photos. Other than that, there's no real substance to it. If you can get it cheap, and you're a big King fan, buy it. Maybe I'll resell mine!

Congratulations to Greenwood and Dr. Rolls for a comprehensive, well-written, and exhaustively researched volume. A must for all King fans and scholars.

This is a wonderful book! It has plenty of classic recipes and many tips. Sometimes you get a book and it's filled with fancy, time consuming recipes that are impractical for every day baking. This has something for everyone. I tried one cookie and one candy recipe for Christmas this year and was very pleased with both. The recipes are categorized (drop cookies, shapes, ect) making it easy to navigate. It has lovely picture too. I'm excited to work my way through this book!

I ordered two copies of this, one for myself and the other as a gift after a friend said she liked the book. The recipes are great but I've found the need to alter a few ingredients for my own taste. It has a great variety of cookies, a great book for beginners or anyone who loves cookies. They are easy to make and the end results do look like those in the photos. Great book for the variety it contains.

Fantastic cookie cookbook. It literally has every type of cookie you can imagine. I am big on pictures in cookbooks and this one has a ton of really great pictures. We made several of the recipes for our Christmas cookies and they were delicious. Way big 5 stars!

As a former globe-trotting mother myself, I felt a kinship with Dalton-Bradford. She is warm and personable, making you feel you could dash off an email to her in response to a passage and have a meaningful conversation about it.Melissa Dalton-Bradford does an admirable job of distilling years of experiences into a few pages covering critical ex-pat experiences like daycare, international and local schools, culture clashes, language acquisition, bureaucracy, navigating medical systems and pharmacies, food, giving birth, friendship, job transfers, etc. She writes of these things with small anecdotes, often hilarious, but always insightful and cohesive.Dalton-Bradford articulates far more deftly than I have ever been able to express the wonder and privilege of such a globe-trotting lifestyle. She does not, however, gloss over the real costs of the same lifestyle--the rootlessness, the relentless loss, and the curious experience of feeling a stranger in one's own country.Perhaps the greatest feat of the book is how the heaviest and most painful of topics-the death of the Bradford's eldest son just days after beginning university-is integrated into the narrative without being choppy or derailing the book. Indeed the candor and dignity with which Dalton-Bradford expresses her grief and the struggle to move forward in such a painful landscape (almost like an entirely new country) was deeply and profoundly moving.I found the typos in the original edition distracting and frustrating--though I think a new edition has been printed and I believe that it has been better proof-read. While Bradford's prose is beautiful and elegant, I found it distracting at times-causing me to lose track of the story. I loved the foreign phrases which were scattered throughout the text, but they weren't always translated which made me feel like an outsider and missing critical parts of the text. Many of the chapter titles were foreign phrases and I think a translation should have been provided as well underneath the title. I also wish the chapters about Singapore and Asia had been expanded. That section of the book felt too cursory and brief.Who should read this book? People who want to travel or have ever wondered what it is like to actually live in a foreign country. People who are preparing for an international move. Expat families who are looking for sources to help validate their experiences. Anyone who is coping with grief would also benefit from this book. I will be sharing this book with my family to help them gain a deeper understanding of my own experiences living in three different foreign countries for 7 years.

I fell in love with Melissa and her family and believe she has an even strong message ahead of her. You will love this book. Waiting for the perfect moment to immerse myself in it, I knew I would love this book…for Melissa’s story parallels my story at some point. But I did not realize how much I would glean and grow from her gifted ability to rein the reader into her international world. I hungered for more as each page flew beneath my fingers, and even more as she described the experiences of tasting all the delicacies the world palate has to offer. Knowing the ending before I started…Melissa still beautifully moved me with her masterful portrayal of living joyfully with the unexpected realities life brings. You don’t have to be a global mom or even any kind of a mom to thoroughly love this book.
