Since the beginning, the mystery involving the death of Rachel grabs your attention. Jaycee doesn't really believe what her town, including the police, says about why her friend died (wow, so many people were so mean). Instead, she keeps searching for answers to find out the truth. Her small town is not as perfect as it seems. An interesting YA story.

This is an amazing book with great twists and turns. Every page will keep you hooked and wanting more. i would really recommend this book. Its amazing and i wish i could read it again. I dont like to give away anything..so just read it. its amazing

This book just gave me life. The characters were so detailed you could feel every emotions they went through. The descriptive aspect was so vivid I could see every scene and understood what the writer was imagining when writing the book. The only thing that was a bit of a bummer you could tell who killed Rachel way before the book announced it.But overall good story!

This was a suspenceful YA read. I got this for my daughter but after watching how engrossed she became in the story I and ended up listening to it myself and I found myself not being able to put it down.

Jaycee's best friend, Rachel, is murdered just moments after age fails to respond to a text for help, leaving behind a message to trust only E, not the police, not the FBI. While authorities blame Mexican gang violence for Rachel's death, Jaycee sets out to solve the crime herself, reluctantly accepting help from Eduardo and not so reluctantly accepting help from a cute guy named Skyler.I wanted to like this YA mystery because the premise was just so interesting. Unfortunately, the stereotypes, overt and covert racism, all good or all bad characters, and lack of interesting plot made enjoying this book impossible. Narrator Jaycee, the good Christian white girl judged everyone based on her prejudices, even while seeming to be appalled by the overt racist actions and words of others. All the characters were stereotypes from the strict Christian father to the migrant workers to the cops who weren't as smart as she was. The writing was full of telling, rather than showing the plot unfold. The ending, while surprising, lacked any payoff for me.File this under disappointing.

Honestly I thought this book would be really dumb and high school-y but I'm actually enjoying it. I bought it on a whim, desperately for anything entertaining and I flew through the book. The chapters aren't incredibly long so you don't feel like you're reading too much, some grammatical mistakes but that's expected.

Each chapter keeps you reading and really waiting on to find out. You think you got it figured out you are already on to the next. It keeps you wanting to find out the next twist in the story. Leading up to the reasons. Good book!!!

Super amazing you will not be disappointed!
